Macbeth - Directing Act 2 Scenes 1 and 2 Essay Example for Free
Macbeth Directing Act 2 Scenes 1 and 2 EssayFrom the coachs point of view, this image is truly dramatic because of the imp map on Macbeths decision in Act 1 scene seven. In this scene Macbeth almost decides that he has talked himself divulge of eating the king, still his wife noblewoman Macbeth has other plans and forces him into a decision that will lead to the death of the king. This affects the dickens scenes I will be directing because in these two scenes the decision is put into practice when Macbeth kills the king. So I hasten to direct the two crucial scenes that see the king murdered by Macbeth. The setting for act two scene one is in Macbeths castle. It is dark and Banquo and Fleance are in the courtyard discussing what time of day it is, and as to whether it is past mid darkness or not. They work out what time it is by seeing if the moon is lot, and then the passeldles are blown out. Now it is at this point large gusts of wind are heard shout throughout the castle with thunder and lightning clashing down most the hearing. Owls are heard calling and all manner of nightlife is heard. This effect is used so that the auditory modality are made intense and unaware as to what is happening next and to create tension. The sounds would be achieved through sound effects being played over the accosters and sharp, crisp lighting would be used to symbolise the lightning. A background tune will be played very lightly to create a mood so scary it will keep the audiences fixed to the stage from the edges of their seats. When Macbeth meets Banquo, Macbeth tells him that he is sorry for not being as good a boniface as usual and Banqou reassures Macbeth that he has been an excellent host to the king. Then he brings up the subject of the witches. He says that he dreamed of the weird sisters the night before, and tells Macbeth To you they reserve targeted some truth. Macbeth replies, I hold not of them, which is a deliberate lie. It is true that we havent heard him mention the witches, but he has been thinking of nothing except how to make pass away the prophecies come true.If I was the director I would introduce Macbeth by letting him enter from right and to walk on quietly, sneakily in fact with entirely soft dull lighting to imitate the moon light. He would be wearing a long black smock to represent the fact he was upset or in regret that he was about to commit a terrible deed. The black would be used because it is traditionally the colour of the night and Macbeth had to blend into the background and move want the night in order not to be spotted or noticed.Banquo would be wearing red knickers and a silver lightweight vest created out of steel with the imprinted cross of Scotland on the vest. He would be wearing a polished steel helmet with a sword placed neatly in its pouch, left hanging on the brown leather belt fastened around his waist. He would also have a spear in his hand with a long shaft that would also be us ed as a walking stick. He would be dressed like this because as a general protecting Duncan king of Scotland he would be expected to wear the kings finest military uniform. As a director I would expect Macbeth to deliver his lines to Banquo in a nervous manner.I would have him stutter and muddle up his words he would also joggle and pause in mid-sentence to give the impression to the audience he is unsure and nervous as to the crime he is about to commit. The lighting in this subdivision of the play as I have already touched on would be dull yet crisp to create a sense of gloriole and to create a mood, which would help Macbeth, deliver his lines. The torchlight the servant would be carrying at this point would be quite sharp and a glowing effect would be used to create the fire effect. Macbeths facial expressions would be few and far between because I would want him to be pale and blank faced so that it looked like he had other things on his mind, more important and life threaten ing things. At the opening of Act 2 scene two, Lady Macbeth is stood some to Duncans room waiting for Macbeth to return. At this point, I would want to emphasise the crime that is about to be committed and to create strong tension between the audience and the stage. Ideally the audience would be sitting focused, eyes fixed on the events and I would want them to feel a sense of danger and betrayal the routine Macbeth kills the King. The effects used to create this feeling would be sudden cold gusts of wind lashing through the audience. A strong gust of smoke would sliding board swiftly along the surface of the stage creating a dark musty atmosphere. Sharp lightning would be seen jolting over the stage with deep blasts of thunder to follow. Lady Macbeth would be dressed in a long silk red dress to represent betrayal and guilt even though she does not show any. When Macbeth returns with the daggers, I think it would be a dramatic moment, so I would chose to have a powerful spotlight f ocusing on Macbeth as he lurch crosswise the smoke filled stage to his wife. My decision for this is that I would like the whole audience to be fixed to Macbeths every movement. I would want this because I would want the audience just to think about him and the crime that he was just committed. Makeup would be used on Macbeth to make him look like a ghost he would be completely white except for the small dashes of red on his face that would represent the kings blood. His hands and the area around his waist would be completely covered in blood to give the impression that he had hacked the king to pieces. At the opening of act two scene one, Macbeth is confident that he is ready to kill the king. When he tells the lie to Banquo that he has given no more thought to the witches predictions, he should deliver these lines with a reliable stutter including repeating and missing out some words. He would also stop and jolt in mid sentence. I think he should speak like this because it makes the audience think he is not sure about what he is about to do and he isnt sure as to whether he can or not. When Macbeth hallucinates he thinks that there is a dagger before him and he reaches out for it and of course cant grasp it. Macbeth is not sure, and interviews whether it is A dagger of the mind, a false creation. If I was the director, I would make Macbeth say these words with confidence then I would make him sound confused as to what he was saying. To give the impression his mind was thinking one thing but common sense was thinking about something else.As Macbeth speaks of the bloody business and how wicked dreams ill-treatment/the curtained sleep, he appears much more confident. To indicate this, I would make him start of whispering the lines then slowly increasing the sound so by the time he had delivered the lines he was screaming them from the rooftops. I would expect his face to be blank, a dark spotlight would be shining on him, as he started shouting his lines he would smile and the spotlight would be turned up, eventually when he had finished Macbeth would be smiling, and the spotlight would be shining brightly.after Macbeth has murdered the king and he returns with the bloody daggers, he seems to be nervous and edgy. His repeated question whos there? What ho? indicates this. I would show this by fashioning Macbeth speak his lines in a slow, shallow majestic voice with the words flowing slowly but surely one after the other with a short silent pause between each precious word. Macbeth considers the enormity of the crime that has been committed, and is terrified, as he knows that he can never be forgiven. He stresses how he could not say Amen after the murder, and how he thought that they heard a voice cry Listning their fear, I would not say Amen, when they did say perfection bless us. To make this point more dramatic, I would chose to make Macbeths voice cry lightly and sharp frequent drops of water would be seen running across his chin and dripping onto the stage. It would sound like he was in pain with sudden shrieks lashing through the audience as though he wants everyone to go through the heart breaking pain that he is going through. After the murder, Macbeth says I am afraid to think what I have done /look ont again I dare not. Perhaps Macbeth does feel genuine remorse for his crime, or maybe he is more afraid about what will happen to his someone when he dies. I think that he does show some genuine remorse because I think deep down he didnt want to kill Duncan but was in fact talked into by his wife and has now noticed the error of his ways. I could show this by making him drop to his knees and holding his toss in his hands crying out for mercy from God.In act two scene one, I would choose to have Banquo to speak in a stern but tired way, as he is Macbeths friend. I would indicate to the audience that he is honest by making sure that he is feel loyal and worthy along with proud and upstanding when he is s peaking to another character.Throughout the scenes, Lady Macbeth is revealed to be calm and calculated. When Macbeth returns from the scene of the murder, he says I heard the owl scream and the crickets cry. Did not you speak?. I would reflect her unemotional state by having her speak nicely soft and quiet. Her eyes would wonder as if she were thinking of something completely different.Lady Macbeth seems ill concerned with her husband when he talks of his inability to sleep. She warns him You do unbend your noble strength to think/ so brain of things. Why did you bring these daggers from the place? They must lie there go carry them, and smear the sleepy grooms with blood. If I were the director, I would show her irritation by speaking to her with an abrupt sarcastic voice with a tone that suggests that shes speaking to an idiot. She will snap and snarl at Macbeth and look down on him.To conclude I have tried to answer each section as best I can. I have tried to integrated the moo d set by each characters lines by using lightning and sound effects as well as the way the actors lay out their lines. My aim was to pick up to get the audience involved in the play without them actually acting, so that they could experience one to one the characters moods, so that they could really understand and get into the play. I would chose Ozzy Osborne to play Macbeth because he is older than some, dresses in black and has a certain element of disguise in him which I feel Macbeths actor needs to portray well. I would choose Halle Berry to play Lady Macbeth because her latest film Gothika was a perfect example of a spooky story of which she played her fiber extremely well.

Things Fall Apart | Okonkwo
Things F exclusively Apart OkonkwoChapter 1He was a man of action, a man of warOn great do such as the funeral of a village celebrity he drank his palm-wine from his first human head. (Page 10)This quote introduces us of to Okonkwos tradition to drink his palm-wine from a human skull. This shows us the difference between Okonkwo and Ibo. This as well as shows that Okonkwo admires men who argon tough fighters as well. He rejected his father, a man who was afraid of the sight of blood, partially because he never became a fighter.Chapter 2Perhaps down in his heart Okonkwo was non a cruel man. But his whole life was dominated by fear, the fear of failure and of weakness.(Page 13)The quote emphasizes that Okonkwo felt that his father was a failure. According to Okonkwo, his father possessed unsuitable feminine qualities. This is unrivalled of the fundamental causes which cause him to overstretch some silly acts. His actions in any case results in his eldest son in be overture a fai lure (in Okonkwos opinion) as well. His son possesses none of the qualities that Okonkwo admires.Chapter 3An experienced woman is always uneasy when dry bones are mentioned in a proverb. Okonkwo remembered his own father.(Page 21)This Ibo proverb shows how overmuch Okonkwo hates his father. He felt that he was a failure and he elementaryally rejects ein truththing that his father stood for. He is ashamed of his father, primarily because of his coward- bid qualities, his failure to rise up in society, and his failure to dumbfound a warrior.Chapter 4But he was not the man to go about telling his neighbors that he was in error. And so people said he had no reward for the gods of the clan. His enemies said that his good fortune had gone to his head. (Page 33)In this quote, Achebe portrays Okonkwos character. Okonkwo clearly shows a lack of thought topped by his pretentiousness. He was not a very likable person. Thus, people hated him and his achievements and was respected by very f ew. Later on in the novel, we also see another characteristic develop in Okonkwo hypocrisy. In those later chapters, he will reject everything he and his tribesman stand for.Chapter 5The Feast of the New Yam was held every year before the return began, to honor the earth goddess and the ancestral spirits of the clan. New yams could not be eaten until some had first been offered to these powers. Men and women, young and old, looked forward to the New Yam fete because it began the season of plentythe new year. (Page 36)When we were reading Great Expectations, we were asked to carefully analyze the food present in the novel. The food present in Things Fall Apart is as signifi rouset. Yams was the main source of food. In fact, the yams were so highly regarded in the society that they were often called the the king of the crops. Further, people utilized the yams for all traditional celebrations. This food can be linked with the religious and ancestral societal spirits. Certain celebrat ions such as the New Yam Festival took place to honor certain foods. Chinua Achebe apply agriculture to express certain characteristics of each festival and celebration of the Igbo society.Chapter 6The wrestlers were now almost stillin each others grip. The muscles on their arms and their thighs and on their rear ends stood out and twitched It looked resembling an equal match. (Page 50)Although this chapter may seem significant it actually has a very significant common intellect the wrestling match. Although wrestling may seem like a brutal sport, it was an integral part of the local culture and society. Tribal customs outline what every member is supposed to do. Without customs, a culture does not exist. Moreover, wrestling matches for the Ibo village signified a boy becoming a man. The only way to prove himself worthy to be a man is to wrestle. This shows the magnificence of physical strength in the tribe.Chapter 7No matter how prosperous a man was, if he was unable to rule his women and his children (and especially his women) he was not really a man. (Page 53)Okonkwo, the protagonist of the novel, is a very gender-role oriented man. When women gained the power to trade, we are made aware that their status in society is progressing upwards. Trade changed basic family relations and the ideas upon which Igbo culture was established. It seems the idea that a man should rule his women and children does not perhaps come from Okonkwo himself, but rather from the Igbo culture itself. Overall, however, this quote symbolizes that women were looked upon as universe inferior to men at the time.Chapter 8When did you brisk on a shivering old woman, Okonkwo asked himself, you, who are known in all the nine villages for your valor in war? How can a man who has killed five men in battle fall to pieces because he has added a boy to their number? Okonkwo, you have become a woman indeed. (Page 65)The Ibo culture is very different from recent culture as shown by the n ovel. One clear difference between most modern societies and the Ibo society was that warfare between different clans or tribes does not occur. The Ibo culture praises manliness and parades fighters. Today, society teaches us to honor warriors who fight against other countries, rather than with regional clans. This quote shows that vast difference between the two time periods.Chapter 9For the first time in three nights,Okonkwo slept. He woke up oncein the middle of thenightand his mind went back to the pastthreedays without making him feel uneasy. He began to wonder why he had felt uneasy at all. (Page 75)In this quote, we see that Okonkwo is noticing something wrong. He feels that something is simply not right, til now he cannot figure what it quite is. Later on in the novel, we will learn that things fall by. This quote is an indication that something wrong will happen. This shows Achebe using point to provide insight into what might happen next.Chapter 10Okonkwos wives, and pe rhaps other women as well, might have noticed that the mhoegwugwuhad the springy walk of Okonkwo. And they might also have noticed that Okonkwo was not among the titled men and elders who sat behind the row ofegwugwu. But if they thought these things they kept them to themselves. (Pages 89-90)This quote portrays a scene in much detail while also using humor. The thoughtful silence of the women is extremely ironic. The quote reveals the attitude of women on the topic of power. Here, the women also reveal that they posses much knowledge of reality as compared to what they wish to reveal. Therefore, Achebe seems to recognize the importance and equality of women, something which was not usually regarded in a male dominant society.Chapter 11Go home and sleep, said Okonkwo. I shall wait here. (Page 108)Okonkwo seems to genuinely love his family. He also seems to have genuine concern over the welfare and wellbeing of his children. In this quote, Okonkwo demonstrates his concern over the safety of his family. Although some would argue that Okonkwos iron fisted rule clearly shows no love for his family, I would differ. Perhaps, these beatings, instead, represented the way people acted in the society at that time. Physical punishment was very common in the era. Therefore, it is possible that Okonkwo was only using the beatings as a method to teach his children discipline. Basically, Okonwo loves his family, however, he is afraid to show this quality since her fears that it might portray him as being feminine.Chapter 12Okonkwo was also feeling tired, and sleepy, for although nobody else knew it, he had not slept at all last night. (Page 112)Chapter 12 marks the first time that Okonkwo seems to be tired. This was a quality that he detested. Achebe shows Okonkwos tiredness to conflict with his earlier beliefs. This shows Okonkwos hypocritical nature. The fact that Okonkwo skint his vow is crucial since they were the foundation of his life. This will cause problems for hi m further on in the novel.Chapter 13The only course open to Okonkwo was to flee from the clan. (Page 124)In the second part of the novel, Achebe uses several incidents that hold back Okonkwo from the commendation of his tribesman, establishing asimilarity towards his own father. This was surprising considering his own hatred for his father. In this quote Okonkwo accidently kills the tribesmans son and then escapes from the village to wipe out from any punishment. This shows his cowardness, a characteristic possessed by his father. This also shows Okonkwos hypocrisy. After all, he, himself, looked down upon cowards.Chapter 14It was like beginning life anew without the vigor and warmth of youth, like learning to become left-handed in old age.(Page 131)Okonkwo, afterward noticing change in his society, felt difficult to go on with his life. He had to drink down a news chapter in his life. This quote illustrates Okonkwo as a person who seems to have lost his will to live life. Okonk wos qualitys and his goal in becoming a fighter, unlike his father, fade away and he becomes a different man.Chapter 15Those were good days when a man had friends in distant clans. Your generation does not know that. You stay at home, afraid of your next-door neighbor. Even a mans motherland is strange to him nowadays. (Page 137)In this quote, Unchendu is telling Okwondo about the past. Although, the quote refers to men interacting within their classes, on a deeper level, it shows the change that has occurred within the society. People are changing and tradations are changing as well. The traditions that the people of the society want to stay the same are changing as well. This will eventually be the things that fall apart. Yet, all of this was expected. After all, the title of the novel is Things Fall Apart. Since everything was going so perfectly, something was bound to happen.Chapter 16The missionaries had come to Umuofia. They had built their church on that point, won a handful of converts and were already sending evangelists to the surrounding areas and villages. (Page 143)The invasion of the Europeans of Africa was expected. Achebe mentions that the missionaries were moving there. Although, I do not affirm the Europeans coming into Africa, the Europeans coming into the village illustrated a very interesting idea the clashing of cultures. Their invasion of the villages illustrated how the traditional values of the Umuofia society could be so slowly changed by this modern theology. This gives everyone a chance to think for themselves, rather than simply following what was traditionally thought of to be right. It gave the people a choice. This choice was interpreted by Nwoye who made his own path in life.Chapter 17Living fire begets cold, impotent ash.(Page 153)This quote is metaphor for a very important idea. This comes after Nwoyesrejection of traditional Igbo values and conversion to Christianity. Nwoye, the oldest son of Okonkwo, is lazy and weak (a ccording to Okonkwo). This quote emphasizes the realization of Okonkwo that his behavior leaves powerlessness in others, especially his son. Okonkwo believes the Nwoye and his father posses the same weakness.Chapter 18In the land of his fathers where men were bold and warlike. In these seven years he would have climbed to the utmost heights. And so regretted everyday of his exile (p.163).This excerpt also emphasizes Okonkwos desire for power and status. During his exile, Okonkwo got in touch with the feminine side inside him. Okonkwo is a man who loves courage and Umuofia was full of men who fit that description. It seems that Okonkwo will go back to Umuodia and everything will have changed. After all, the title of the novel is Things Fall Apart. Nothing has fallen apart, yet so something is bound to happen. This idea shows that Achebe, like Charles Dickens, too, uses the idea of foreshadowing.Chapter 19I fear for you young people because you do not understand how strong is the bond of kinship. You do not know what it is to speak with one voice. (Page 167)This quote is told by an elder to Okwondo. Kinship and connections, which have been crucial parts of the Ibo culture, seem to fall apart as the novel progresses. This quote sparks questions in my mind. Was there any fragmentation amongst the Ibo people from colonization? The Ibo people gathered for wrestling matches and other festivities. Okonkwo clashes with his culture very often.Chapter 20The white man is very clever. He came quietly and peaceably with his religion. We were amused at his foolishness and allowed him to stay. Now he has won our brothers, and our clan can no longer act like one. He has put a knife on the things that held us together and we have fallen apart. (Page 176)Obierika mourns over the white man coming to Africa. However, at the same time, he believes that it is the Africans fault for letting the white man come. Mr. Brown, the first white missionary, believes that it is necessary to ac t peacefully in order to convert people. When Reverend Smith replaces him, he goes against the autochthonal tribes and treats them badly.Chapter 21He mourned for the clan, which he saw breaking up and falling apart and he mourned for the warlike men of Umuofia, who had so unaccountably become soft like women (Page 183)Okonkwo wanted that the ideology of his clan should survive. The society to have several violent attributes. By giving into the Christians, Umuofia broke up and fell apart and turned as soft as women. I believed that Okonkwo did not pay the consequences because he killed the messenger. Okonkwo had killed others before. Okonkwo died because he did it for himself and the beliefs of the clan. The quote above not only shows Okonkwos dismay at the fall of the clan, but also his hatred of feminine qualities, a controversial topic in the novel.Chapter 22He saw things as dusky and white. And black was evil.He saw the world as a battlefield in whichthe children of light were lo cked in mortal conflict with the sons of darkness. (Page 184)Mr. Smith speaks against the god Baal. Many struggles against Baal have been mentioned in the Bible. This shows Achebes criticism of racism. Achebe criticizes the black and white idea. Most racism is based on stories rather than any practical events. Therefore, this view has modified reality, something which Achebe seems to be very against.Chapter 23For the first time in many years Okonkwohad a feeling that was akin to happiness. The times which had altered so unaccountably during his exile seemed to be coming round again. The clan which had turned false on him appeared to be making amends. (Page 192)This quote symbolizes a change, something which has happened very rarely in the novel. The status of the clan stay somewhat the same in various portions of the novel. However, at this time, the tribe is prosperous which is unlike the norm. However, this happiness will not last for long. After all, the novel has to live up to its expectations which are clearly revealed in the novel something must fall apart. This indicates that perhaps the tribe will disintegrate in the last few chapters. This might lead to a drastic turn in the novel.Chapter 24He knew that that Umuofia would not go to war. He knew because they had let the other messengers escape (Page 205).Okonkwos suicide meant more(prenominal) than his own tragedy. It symbolized the finish of his society and all the values that prevailed. I think he killed himself because he felt there was no more hope in believing that his tribe would survive and defend itself. Okonkwo tried to represent that everything his tribe wanted. If the tribe wasnt going to survive with the way people were growing up, then he wanted to die too. If the societys life was going to be taken, his was going to be taken too.Chapter 25He had already chosen the title of the book, after much thoughtThe Pacification of the Primitive Tribes of the Lower Niger. (Page 209)This quote indi cates the racist attitude that the District Commissioner has towards the local tribes. He is a pompous man who thinks he understands the indigenous culture and tribes, while he clearly does not. While he feels that he is bringing peace to the region, he is clearly doing nothing of the sort. He also seems to be very shallow. He makes remarks on love of superfluous words of the villagers. In this, he mocks the language of the villagers.

Analysis of Pepsi AdvertAre you Thirsty? Analysis of Pepsi AdvertBriauna McGrewYou wake up in the middle of the night and youre standing in front of your refrigerator with your middles squinted because of the bright light trying to decide what you want to drink. Then you finally see it, even with your squinted hearts, the ingest thing you had been craving since you went to sleep and then dreamed about until the moment you woke up, a Pepsi. So, you grab that glorious Pepsi excited to take a drink and retrieve the bubbly delicious drink run down your dry throat. Once you take a drink you start to think bear out to what first got you started intoxication this yummy, bubbly, delicious pop. Then you remember the ad that you saw in a magazine that made you laugh out loud so you except had to try the pop. In this ad they used one of Americas famous holidays to get peoples attention and they also made it funny which is something that everyone loves, if someone sees something funny and they are a fun person, more than likely they are going to look into whatever it is that made them laugh, I know I do.When I first looked at this ad the very first thing that I notice is the Pepsi can wearing a Coca-Cola chimneypiece. So it is obviously a Pepsi ad trying to get people to drink Pepsi. They are trying to send out a message that Coke is scary and Pepsi is just a normal pop. The only saying on this ad is We wish you a scary Halloween. This is a big part of them saying that Coke is scary because when you dress up for Halloween you try to be scary, so the Pepsi can is trying to be scary by dressing up as a Coke can. I also got the feeling that when they say We wish you a scary Halloween they are saying that it would be scary if Pepsi turned into Coke When you think of scary things you want to stay away from them, such as cheat infested water, if you had to choose between swimming in water that had no living things in it and swimming in water that was infested with sharks I am almost certain you would choose the one with no living things. I think thats what Pepsi is getting at with this ad. Pepsi is a very hip company because they try to appeal to the younger people so they talk their parents into buying it so they can drink it.The colors are key in this ad because if they didnt get the colors just right this could very easily become helpful to Coke and not Pepsi, but because they are professionals at advertisements they used the exact colors needed. In the back ground of the picture are rocks on a hill or a mountain but when you look at it you can see large-minded of a blue undertone in these rocks, almost like they put a very faint blue tint to the entire picture. If you look at the Coke blanket the colors are very dull and aggress ive and the shadows on the cape have hints of blue in them which is the main color of a Pepsi can. They made sure that the red on the Pepsi can was a different and more bright red than the red on the Coke cape. They word form of have light coming from the top of the picture and the bottom of the picture so the can just looks so bold. The Pepsi can itself is more bright even though it is under a Coke cape it still pops out. The white on the Pepsi can is a brighter white and the white on the cape is a little more dull. The Pepsi can has some reflecting light on it to make it pop out even more. The top of the Pepsi can has a very bright lie reflection so it makes the can catches the readers eye and makes them look. The whole picture is more of a dark picture but they made sure to make the Pepsi logotype very very bright so that it would stand out so that people would know for sure what the ad was for. They made sure to place the sun in the perfect place to make the Pepsi can stick o ut the most. They made the can in general very bold so that your eye is just drawn straight to the can.The colors are very important but the position the can in is important as well. When you look at it it looks like the can is standing tall and is a dominate thing. They make it look like there is a gentle breeze because the Coke cape is open and just looks like it is blowing in the wind, sweet of like at the end of a super hero movie when the hero stands on a high mountain top and overlooks the city that he takes care of and they make sure there is a gentle breeze blowing through making their cape blow around and they just look so dominate, thats the feel that I get from this, because they are making this cape blow in the wind it is kind of making the Coca-Cola in this picture a lot less dominate because the word is all wrinkled up and you wobble see it as well, you cant see the whole Pepsi word but they have the most important letters of the name in there, the whole name is Peps i and they have the eps in there so pretty much all of the letters that make up the word Pepi are included, so people just know what they are looking for at. The can is standing right between 2 boulders that kind of make a V or an arrow that kind of points right to the can that also helps with drawing your eyes straight to the can. Also the moss that is throughout the entire picture is isnt a strong point but I can feel the moss kind of guiding your eyes right to the can.To sum everything up, it doesnt seem like this Pepsi ad used a lot of things to try to sell their product but they did. They didnt use a lot of wording but they didnt need to, they kind of came off as a the can speaks for itself kind of thing. They made the colors all hit in the perfect spot and they made all the high lights and low lights perfect. They made the can seem dominate without even saying anything. They made everything in the picture just point straight at the can but they didnt make the pointing too har sh they just kind of slowly guided your eye straight to the can. In my opinion they did an amazing job in this ad just because they didnt use many words but they still got what they wanted to get into everyone that sees this ad head. So what do you think? Are you going to begin drinking Pepsi?http//www.emlii.com/images/article/2014/02/5300bef02e394.jpeg

There are 10 characteristics that will be briefly discussedListening being able to hear what your follower have to say nearly how they feel in certain situations is very important.Empathy being able to put up empathy for your followers, even when some wi ll not accept some views from their co-workers. One way to do this is by simply being a ctive in the community and show an example that teamwork is very effective when you work together.Servant leadership is heavily influenced by the Christian faith. All Christians are called to be servants, even when you are called to be a leader. In order to be a leader, you had to be a good and obedient servant in order for God to call you higher(prenominal) in ministry. savior showed a great example of servant leadership when he washed the feet of the disciples. He also showed us that we need to put past our personal gain and makes sacrifices to fulfill the needs of others. You have other that will would climb up the ladder and only motivate themselves and not help others. This is something that Jesus did not demonstrate throughout his ministry. The Hinduism religion exemplified servant leadership. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was the political and spiritual leader of India. He used the ahimsa philosophy which means total nonviolence. He was cognize to tell the truth and encourag e those who followed him to do the same. Martin Luther King, Jr. believed that Gandhi was indeed an example of a person that showed servant leadership because Gandhi was not all about him and attempt to control the people of India, but to serve them so they can recognize their dignity and power. Even through the process of gaining independence from Great Britain, Gandhi gave India hope that this vision can come true. He never claimed himself as a leader but became a catalyst to many Hindu leaders after him.The Islam religion also exemplified servant leadership. The prophet Mohammad said this about servant leadershipA ruler who has been entrusted with the affairs of the Muslims, but makes no endeavor for their material and lesson upliftment and is not sincerely concerned for their welfare will not enter Paradise along with them. (Al-Bukhari, 1997, p.166)Mohammad wanted to show the people that the servant is the leader of the nation, not the leader. Islams concept of servant leaders hip is serving the workers and the community as their main priority. Like Christians, Islam want to provide services to others, to be an integral part of the community and to further understand their spiritual side of their organizations.A equalise of years ago, the past moderator from the Eastern Shore Virginia/Maryland Baptist Association wanted to do something that will help families that could not afford anything (food, toys, clothes) for Christmas. He called it Christmas Without Walls. As an example of the characteristic stewardship, he took it upon himself to buy turkeys, toys and clothes to help these families in his area in order for them to have a better Christmas then they had years before. This led the church to follow his example and they too started to donate items to the less fortunate. In the last couple of years, they were able to bless more than 300 families and looking to do more this year now that other churches are joining to do the same in their own communities . He also showed another characteristic of building communities as becoming an example to show that once you put out, others will follow and together we all can do anything. To model yourself as a leader from a servant leadership approach, self awareness is important. You have to know your own strengths and weaknesses, what inspires you, what motivates you, and how you relate to others. This will allow you to give more of yourself to others when it comes to relationships as this will build up your self esteem and confidence. Emotional intelligence allows you to evaluate others emotions as well as your own. As a result, you understand yourself, your goals, intentions, responses, and behavior. This also led to understanding others and their feelings. Being able to understand other peoples feelings mean that you care about their values and beliefs, even when some of theirs do not agree with your own (this is an empathy characteristic of servant leadership). It do not matter on the relig ion but no how we treat others in general. Our beliefs may be from a religion but we are given free will on how we treat others. If you are able to put self aside and help others, you will be showing an example to others and will follow you and even inherit your ways.

Pro-Death Penalty Essay -- Pro Capital Punishment Essays
There are a total of 3,350 inmates currently on death row. These people include alone of the main races in America. In 1965 Robert Massie hit a mother of two in California during a robbery. Mere hours before he was scheduled to be put to death. A stay was issued so he could testify, he had found evidence to support his cases and got parole and a second chance. Eight months later he robbed and run intoed a businessman in California. This is a obvious that the death penalty should not be abolished, better yet supported in all states. The death penalty will prove to all mentally unstable criminals the horrors of death and will force them to face it eye to eye if they choose to commit the crime. uppercase punishment is cropive in 36 states. 10 of those states have 100 or more inmates on death row. ?Over the past decade the murder rate has dropped dramatically?(Elliot, David/Marquis, Joshua). This is a rather obvious reason why the death penalty is working. The percentage of murd er rate per 100,000 were between 4.5-6.8. Even though the south had the highest murder rate, they were executing the most. Texas had a staggering 405 executions since 1976. 26 of those executions were in 2007. Obviously by this information it shows that states are doing what is right to show their criminals to think twice whether they should commit the crime or not.A rather interesting fact is that 57% of inmates executed were white rather than black. Blacks are often commit more murders than whites but still whites are put to death. The reason is that blacks often commit small murders while whites commit large scale murders and sometimes a massacre. A prime example is the shootings at Virginia Tech. The culprit was Asian. Asians account for only 7% of inma... ...annot be executed. The law was only reinstated in 2005, so 22 defendants have been executed as juveniles.America has been split in the region where executions have happened. The south claims 901 executions. While the nort heast has only 4 executions. The two oddballs out are Texas and Virginia which are in second with 503. Texas alone has 405 executions while Virginai has 98. Every state has at least 1 execution. While 42 have more than or jibe to 2 executions. In conclusion is still active in many parts of the world including US. Nobody deserves to die unless they have committed a act of hatred toward humanity or a sign of obvious mental problems. Thus the death penalty will once and for all prove to mentally unstable criminals the true horrors of death and will literally force them to face it eye to eye if they choose to commit the crime.
